Peter Woolley

In the early 90’s as Maintenance Superintendent at a Bauxite Mine and Aluminium Refinery I had the pleasure of working with the author of the Business Process Framework (BPF), Mick McAlear, and I have been applying the principles of the BPF ever since.

In senior corporate roles in Normandy Mining, CSR, and Newcrest Mining I was applying the principles of BPF to standardise performance reporting and work management processes across the business.

As Maintenance Manager at Newcrest’s Cadia Valley Operations I implemented portions of the BPF across all maintenance sections. This contributed to a greatly improved safety performance, resulted in world class performance from the two concentrators, and allowed the maintenance department to come within 1% of the annual maintenance budget.

In seven years of consulting in Australia, Canada, South Africa, Brazil, and Chile I have applied components of the BPF to companies such as Western Mining Corporation, Rio Tinto, Iron Ore Company of Canada, Boral, Newcrest, and BMA.
